The MBS Stain Glass Vision

The cultural theme, dominated by reds and greens, symbolizes growth and learning, strengthening and expanding like a tree nurtured by a pair of caring hands.

The gold within the centre represents the importance of interaction between the teacher and student through the learning process.

The areas of clear and blue glass represent the spirit of youth, and a continuity with sweeping movement, to meet the future with knowledge and confidence.

A Vision for the Future!!

Mary Butterworth School is seeking to develop an innovative, rich and responsive centre for learning and excellence where students develop confidence in themselves and competence in using twenty-first century tools to deal with changing challenges. We are committed to preparing young people for a future of rapid change and uncertainty and dedicated to developing responsible citizens. Our primary goal is the success and well being of each of our students.

The educational message of our school will be contained and delivered in the medium of today and the emerging media of tomorrow. In a warm and caring environment, where the animating impulses of technology inspire and enhance learning, our students will experience pride in their achievements and their school. Our school seeks to provide a highly productive learning environment that enables students, in school and elsewhere, to pursue their own individualized and customized educational goals and programming using technologically enhanced learning systems and employing carefully designed and delivered integrated, multi-disciplinary approaches to learning.

At Mary Butterworth School, we believe that the best education for all is achieved when students feel a sense of belonging and parents and members of the community, including business and industry, work together as partners in education. Together, we will influence our future by learning today for tomorrow!

About Our Logo!

Our logo and school colors are very special and have symbolic meaning hidden within. The logo portrays an adolescent accessing modern technology on one hand, having the other hand raised with "the answer". This symbol relates closely with the stained glass art wall described above. The student's head, in red, represents soundness, structure, and logic of learning, and the stylized keyboard in green symbolizes the variety of youth absorbing and growing with this knowledge. To represent the spirit of youth, blue has been used in the arms of the adolescent. Emphasizing the importance of technology, both present and future, an impression of connectivity to the world is shown in yellow, the symbolic color of illumination. The Mary Butterworth School logo is indicative of the vision of our namesake, and represents a school with a vision of the future and a mission to prepare students for that future.
